If you like this message or find it's content useful make sure to leave a rating at the bottom - it's very quick and simple! Good afternoon!
After a lot of effort – emails, meetings, phone calls, application forms, vetting, confusion, panic and chaos – COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH IS BACK!
Sadly, Community Speedwatch in our area was dormant for a while however after a massive push to build both the Yateley and the Blackwater & Hawley schemes, we ran our first Yateley session on Cricket Hill Lane yesterday afternoon.
The session was a massive success with 468 cars measured and 37 being counted as driving above 35mph in a 30mph limit. These vehicles will be sent a warning letter reminding them to drive safely in our community. We’ll also be running the first Blackwater & Hawley session very soon.
I cannot finish this post without saying a massive thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to positively affect road safety in our area. The schemes will both run with minimal Police involvement and this is testament to the hard work and sacrifice of each and every volunteer. These people are giving up their own time to keep our community safe so thank you to every one of you.
If you’d like to become a volunteer to keep our roads safe, pop me an email to ben.blundell@hampshire.police.uk and I’ll get an application out to you.
Stay safe,
#PCBenB PC 27999 Ben Blundell, Local Bobby for Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley.
